Does Meal Makers, Inc. cater to
any number of people?
No. The dinner party and catered event are
limited to the amount of people we can accommodate. Presently we do not exceed 50 people.
These numbers are subject to change by management and therefore it is best to inquire
regarding any meal.
Does Meal Makers, Inc. cater outside the
Greater Philadelphia area?
We will travel throughout Southern New
Jersey, Princeton, New Castle County Delaware and the Suburbs of Philadelphia. It is best
to inquire — one never can tell!
Do you make dishes from clients' own recipes
for Dinner Parties?
Sometimes. We recognize that there are
great cooks out there who have their own favorite recipes and we've tried in the past to
accommodate those who wish for us to use these recipes for a meal. However, this has not
always met with success since (as any good cook knows) no one makes it as good as
"mom, aunt Jane or themselves." Therefore, Meal Makers, Inc. respectfully
decided to go on a case-by-case basis. We truly feel that our recipes (although not as
good as mom's in some instances) are very good and that you will enjoy them!
Does Meal Makers, Inc. provide samples of th
eir food to try?
Sometimes we are asked to provide samples
of food for people to try before they decide on using our services. We are happy to
prepare a food item for potential clients to try, however our guidelines for this end of
the business include a minimum fee based on the items requested and two (2) weeks notice.

Do you require deposits?
Yes in many instances, especially for new
clients and to hold a requested date.
Do you provide rental equipment?
Yes we do. If we do not have the necessary
equipment in stock we contact a local reputable rental company and have them provide the
item(s) needed. We take care of this end of your party for you if you wish. Our prices for
rentals are the same as those charged by the rental companies we use, although we charge
an hourly fee for any time involved organizing, picking up and delivering the items,
setting up the equipment and taking it down. Since this is a very individualized service,
we do not have a set price and therefore negotiate the details with each client on an
individual basis.
Do you provide written contracts for your jobs?
Yes we do. Please contact us for
additional details.
Meal Makers, Inc. goal is to help you simplify a time-consuming daily chore-putting a delicious and nutritious meal on the table. We customize dinner menus, and upon your approval, shop for the groceries, and prepare all food in your kitchen using our pots, pans and utensils. We leave your kitchen spotless, your freezer filled with tasty meals, and the wonderful aroma of home cooking! We also do dinner parties and cater small events. For special events, we can provide a chef assistant, servers and bartenders.
Where do you shop?
Quality and variety
is important to Meal Makers, Inc.. We shop at major supermarkets, reputable food
suppliers, but also at specialty shops, fresh meat, fish and seafood markets, and Whole
Foods/ Health food stores in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Can you pick up a few groceries for my family other than those for my dinner meals?
Yes, we will be more than happy to shop for staples for you while we shop for the ingredients that will be used to prepare your entrees. Meal Makers, Inc. will also do your regular grocery shopping on a non-cooking date.
How is food packaged?
All food is securely packaged in
freezer-to-microwave or freezer-to-oven containers. Main courses are packaged "family
style" in large pans or trays. Side dishes are usually packaged in heavy-duty freezer
bags or plastic containers.
How will I know how to heat and serve?
Meal Makers, Inc. labels each food
container with contents and Cooking/Re-heating instructions. We also leave a menu with
Cooking/Re-heating instructions. To make our service as convenient as possible for you,
instructions are written for the best method for you and the entree. Some instructions may
be for re-heating on top of stove, in the oven or in the microwave. And of course,
we’re just a phone call away if you have any questions about final preparation of any
of our selections.
Can you prepare my favorite recipes?
Gladly. Our menu items are offered as a
guide. By no means are they exhaustive. If you don’t see what you’re craving,
please ask for it. Or give us your favorite recipes, and we’ll be glad to prepare
them for you.
How often can I use your service? Am I obligated to sign up for a minimum number of
sessions or meals?
Not at all. Our goal is total flexibility
and convenience for you. Service is available weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, or
occasionally. And although we think you’ll find our cooking irresistible, we realize
that for many people, we’ll be part of mealtime planning that includes restaurants
and your own cooking. Feel free to call us when you need us!

How do gift certificates work?
We believe our service is one of the most thoughtful and useful gifts you’ll find. You purchase a gift certificate based on your budget and the service you want to give. Once the gift certificate has been presented, we work with the recipient to customize the order and select the menu items they want.

How do I get started?
To get started, give us a call. We'll set
up a time to meet with you at your home or office, to complete an assessment of your food
preferences and requirements. We’ll select a convenient day for preparation, select a
menu and that’s it!
